About Us

Singleton Heights Medical Practice is a well-established long serving family medical practice residing within the local township of Singleton, New South Wales. Located within the Singleton Heights Shopping Centre. With a large off street free car parking area, with a designated disability car space directly outside the practice. The practice is set on ground floor level with wheel chair friendly access. All of Doctors have an allocated individual consultation room. There is a well-equipped modern treatment room that is staffed by our Registered Nurses Monday to Friday.

Dr. Richard Marshall
MB BS (SYDNEY) DRANZCOG FACRAM

Dr. Marshall is a General Practitioner with Obstetric and Anaesthetic qualifications who joined Singleton Heights Medical Practice in 1992. Dr Marshall will be providing Anaesthetic and On call Emergency services at Singleton Hospital.      He will be running anaesthetic clinics from SHMP on a fortnightly basis only

Dr. Marshall has full VMO (Visiting Medical Officer) rights at Singleton District Hospital.

Dr. Marshall is actively involved in the teaching and supervision of Rural General Practitioner Registrar programme, University Medical Undergraduates and John Flynn Scholarship Medical students.

Dr. Abe Mathew
MBBS MPH FRACGP DCH FRACGP-RG FARCP
Practice Principal

Dr. Mathew is a General Practitioner who joined Singleton Heights Medical Practice in August 2014. Abe has a special interest in General, Paediatric and Travel medicine as well as skin cancer and has completed additional qualifications in this area of medicine.

Dr. Mathew has full VMO (Visiting Medical Officer) rights at Singleton District Hospital.

Dr Mathew is actively involved in the teaching and supervision of Rural General Practitioner Registrar programme.

Dr Abe Mathew languages spoken (other than English) Arabic, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil.

Dr. Laura Hodges
MD BVSc (Hons) FRACGP FARCP ARANZCOG (Adv.P)

Graduated from the University of Sydney in 2017. Dr Laura Hodges has completed an Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has a special interest in women’s health. Dr Hodges has full VMO rights at Singleton District Hospital.

Available Tuesdays and Fridays 9am-5pm

Dr. Samuel Broadbent
B Med Rad Sci (RT)Dist. B Med (Dist.) EMD RGA SCHP

Dr Samuel Broadbent graduated from the University of Newcastle. He has completed his Advanced Specialist Training in both Emergency and Anaesthesia and is currently working towards Fellowship with ACRRM.

Dr Broadbent has special interests in General and Emergency medicine and Paediatrics. Dr Broadbent has VMO rights at Singleton District Hospital.

Dr Leah Byrne
B Med FRACGP ARANZCOG (Adv.P)

Dr Leah Byrne graduated from University of Newcastle. Dr Byrne has completed her Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has a special interest in pregnancy and women’s health.

Dr Byrne has VMO rights at Singleton District Hospital. She is available for appointments Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9-5pm.

Dr Alex Cuthill
B.Ec. B.Med. M.HLM EMD FACRRM

Dr Alex Cuthill graduated from the University of Newcastle. He has completed his training with ACRRM with advanced specialist skills in emergency medicine. He holds VMO rights at Singleton District Hospital.

Dr Cuthill is involved in the training of future rural generalists and holds a medical educator role with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.

His interests are in optimizing chronic disease to prevent acute illness as well as emergency care. Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending as much time as possible with his young children.  ” Available for appointments Monday and Fridays 8-5pm

Dr Leandra Griffith Jean-Baptiste
B Med DRANZCOG

Dr Leandra graduated from UWI in 2011. Dr Leandra is currently awaiting Fellowship with RACGP and completing the DRANZCOG Advanced Diploma. Dr Leandra loves caring for people of all ages, with a special interest in women’s health, pregnancy, and postpartum care. Available Mondays and Friday 8-4.45pm.

Dr Michelle Willmott
BSc Med (Hons) MB B Chir (Dist.)

Dr Michelle Willmott graduated from the University of Cambridge UK with distinction in 2013. She completed her academic clinical training in London with a research focus on Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes and is now working towards her ACRRM Fellowship. 

Her areas of interest include weight loss management and mental health.    She aspires to deliver the latest, evidence-based care in an open and caring way for her patients.

Dr Michelle is available for appointments Tuesday 11am-5pm, Wednesday -Fridays 8am-5pm
